Short Visit To Chitwan National Park.(Sauraha)

Sauraha is the most important tourist destination of nepal situated at chitwan district which is about 150 km far from kathmandu and is famous for exploring wildlife and birds.We can reach there by local bus as well as air flights however traveling in airway is little bit expensive than on local transport.Duration is about
5 hour and fare is around 5$ from kathmandu.Local transport are available most of the daytime.

Sauraha has played important role in conservation of wildlife as well as the community stayed there is Tharu Community who have played significant role in conservation of tharu culture too.Not only exploring wildlife in sauraha we can explore knowledge about tharu community and their rituals too.

As this is my personal blog related to personal experience while visiting several places of Nepal,today i am going to share my experiences while visiting Sauraha.This time we five friends planned to visit Sauraha so we planned to visit for two days and we reach there by motorbike.We left from kathmandu at 8:00 am and reached Narayangarh at around 1:00 pm.From bike it takes only about 4 hour from Kathmandu if traveled non-stop but we were not traveling in rush.If you want to taste fresh fish you can stop at Malekhu and enjoy the real taste of fish there.

At first day we planned to stay at Narayangarh bazaar so we booked a big room at Elephant Guest House.The hospitality provided by guest house was good plus the cost was economic.At the same day, we went to beach of Narayani river, enjoyed the scenario and tasted different junk food kept in food stall nearby.Then we visited to several local places and explored the beauty of Narayangarh city also we attended the evening aarati lamp which is done regularly at the bank of Narayani river. We had planned to reach Sauraha next morning so, we returned back to room at about 7:00 pm and started our further enjoyment program.After taking tasty dinner we went to room for rest.

As our plan we moved to Sauraha next early morning after taking breakfast at the same hotel.It is around 7 km far from main city of Narayangarh.We should cross Tikauli jungle which is very dense and also we should be more alert as wild creatures may cross the road any time.After reaching Sauraha at around 9:00 am we booked a room in Rhino Resort.This resort is located in peaceful environment.

Tharu Cultural Museum, Beeshazari lake(20,000 lake), Jungle Safari, Elephant Safari, Rhino lake, Elephant breeding center, Elephant bathing center, Canoeing, Tharu cultural dance etc are main attraction of Sauraha.The flora and fauna around Sauraha will make your mind and eyes pleasant. Moreover, the flow of Rapti river across the side of village has added the beauty of Sauraha. If you are a nature lover then definitely Sauraha is the best place to visit as you can explore more about nature and its creatures in short duration.

This time we had planned to do Elephant safari but it is not available during mid-day time i.e from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm so we booked for day time.After taking lunch, we had more time to wait for safari so we walked inside Chitwan National Park where visitor's are allowed to walk to certain distance only.I recommend you for walking inside those areas so that you may feel more adventurous.Sometimes we can spot Rhino grazing in the grass-field near to us.Imagine what could be more adventurous than this ? At 3:00 pm we went to elephant safari spot for jungle safari and we started our elephant safari.People believe that chances to spot wild animals is high in elephant safari than in jeep safari.But, i think it depends upon luck whether you will see wild animals or not.Deer's and peacock are spotted at high number's.Unfortunately, we also didn't spotted any wild-creatures like bears, wild-elephant, tiger's and other's dangerous animals.Elephant safari last longs to about 1.5 hrs, we can only cover short area in elephant as it moves very slowly.

Doing these activities, the time was spend so fast that we didn't realized the time spent and soon it was evening.We postponed remaining programs for next day and returned to our room.Though we had been visiting whole day we did not feel any tiredness.After some rest we moved for tharu cultural program.The environment around Sauraha is so cool that we don't feel tired even after moving whole day.The dinner provided by the resort was so tasty.Next day morning we went to elephant breeding center, tharu museum, 20000 lake and elephant bath center and returned to Kathmandu same day.This time we could not manage time for Rhino lake which is located inside Chitwan National Park.Next time when we visit Sauraha again this will be at our first priority.
